My first year of blogging

Hello everyone!

Welcome back to my blog. Today we are going to talk about how my first year of blogging went. I can’t believe that it has been a full year already. Time went by so fast.

I’m happy to say that I really enjoyed blogging. I just enjoy having my own website and sharing my life with you. I like that I can make my own rules and that nobody can tell me what to do. Of course, I love the writing itself. I knew that about myself, but I really wanted to see whether I still would like it if I had to do it consistently. I was kind of scared that it would feel like work instead of a hobby. Luckily it didn’t.

What I also love about my way of blogging is that there are always changes in my life so I don’t have to think hard about what I am going to post. I just take you all on my journey and hope that we all can learn from it.

Ok,let’s talk about some statistics.

For 2021 I had planned to post twice a month so 24 posts in the whole year. I choose this number because I wanted to make sure that I didn’t overwhelm myself. I ended up posting more (32) because sometimes I just came up with an idea or something that I really wanted to share.

In 2021 I had about 20 subscribers. This number is not that important to me, because not everyone has a WordPress account, which I understand. I do appreciate the people that subscribed to me. So if you are one of them: Thank you so much!

Last year I had 549 views. It’s so crazy that people are taking their precious time out of their days and go to my website and even ready my blogs. That means a lot to me. I really value time.  That’s why I always end my posts with “thank you for your precious time”.

And now let’s talk about the thing that I am most proud of: I got views from 21 different countries! That blows my mind! People from different countries around the world found my blog. That’s so crazy.

Then the final question. Did I make money from my blog? Well, the answer is, I made 7 whole cents lol. My goal wasn’t to make money from my blog in 2021, but I think it’s funny I made 7 cents. I made this from the ads that were showing on my website. In 2021 2.076 ads were shown on my website.

So, what are my goals for 2022?

  1. I want to get at least 1000 views on my blog
  2. I want to post 3 or 4 times a month
  3. I want to make money every single month (amount doesn’t matter right now)
  4. I want 5.000 ads to be shown on my website

This year I really want to work on my strategy. The first thing that I am going to change is that I am going to post on the weekdays instead of the weekend. I noticed that I earned those 7 cents on weekdays when I would get a lot of views. I’m probably also going to upload 2 hours later than I was used to do.

I already posted twice this year and I am happy to say that I’m already doing good this so far and we are only halfway through the month. On January 13 I already had 77 views, which is more than 11 of the months in 2021. I already earned money and I already have 300 ads shown on my website so far.

I really hope that this is going to be a great year. If I don’t reach these goals I’m not going to be hard on myself. At the end of the day, this is a hobby and it should be fun for me. I know that it is hard to make money from a blog. But it is always worth the try. Also, I created a youtube channel to add a new source of income. So I don’t worry too much about making money on my blog. If I can make money from both that’s of course perfect.

But the point is that I am going to try and that I am going to do my best. I’m going to stay positive and see for myself how much I will be able to make from blogging. I don’t want to listen to people who are saying that you can’t make money from blogging. It is definitely not impossible. My website might blow up, you never know.

All that to say that I am really excited for my second year of blogging. Let’s do this!

This is it for today.

Thank you for your precious time and until next time!

Love,

Color and Coins
